Leeds preparing for tough away test at Coventry

00:00Next, of course, a mid-week fixture away at Coventry City.

00:06Coventry have been an interesting side the last few seasons because the times they've

00:09been really, really good and you think, well, they could have gone up to the Premier League

00:12if they'd beaten Luton, of course, just a year or so ago, maybe two years ago.

00:18But this season, perhaps not quite hitting those heights.

00:22And so given the fact that Leeds are off the back of a 7-0 win, you'd have to plant them

00:27given the confidence that will have undoubtedly given Daniel Farker's side.

00:31Yeah, I think so.

00:32The two things with this are that you've got the Frank Lampard factor, obviously, going

00:35back to the old sort of like Derby days and stuff, Derby County, when it all sort of stemmed

00:38from there and Spygate and everything, that will never be forgotten.

00:41And the other thing is, is that Coventry, it does seem to be the case at the moment

00:45when Leeds are playing teams, they're coming up against teams who are in a good run of

00:48form and as Daniel Farker said himself, they are actually top of the form table at the

00:52moment over the last four, five games, four wins in a row.

00:55Obviously, it's going to take a bit of time for any new manager going in there, but it

00:58looks like Lampard's having a decent effect there.

01:00He's only lost, I think it's three games, was it played 14, eight wins, three draws,

01:04three defeats.

01:05So pretty good, just under two points a game.

01:07Got some very, very good players.

01:08They've got home advantage as well.

01:10I think people like Haji Wright are out, which will obviously be a boost for Leeds, but still

01:13players like Thomas Asante and Sims, you know, an awful lot to contend with and stuff.

01:17It's just a very, very hard game that I think if they went to Coventry and they're out of

01:20form, it's one you could think, yeah, they really fancy going back up that victory.

01:24When you look at Leeds' fixtures coming now between now and the end of the season, I think

01:27it's 16 left.

01:28That stands out as one of the ones that looks like one of the harder ones and stuff.

01:32And like I say, you don't go to any game thinking, let's go and get a draw.

01:35But I think if Leeds go there and draw, I don't think it'd be too bad a result whatsoever.

01:38But obviously, hopefully, you know, you go there and continue the winning thread and

01:41continue the winning theme.

01:43Leeds are favourites, the favourites for just about every game at the moment, though.

01:46Well, they are favourites for every game, obviously, about even money.

01:49So, but yeah, Coventry won four in a row, they're only three points off the playoffs.

01:52So, you know, make no mistake about that, it'll be a very, very hard game.

01:55Although we said that about Cardiff at the weekend and that was 7-0.

01:58So we shall see what happens.

01:59But I don't think this one will be 7-0, that's for certain.

02:01And as I say, to summarise, I think this is definitely, definitely one of Leeds' hardest

02:05games left of the running sort of thing.

02:08You know, there's some big ones coming up and this is definitely, definitely a big one.

02:11It's a very hard game, this one at Coventry.

02:12And yeah, it's the sort of game that could really go either way.

02:15But hopefully Leeds' class will shine through.

02:17But yeah, as Daniel Farquhar said himself, very respectful of Coventry, who are in very,

02:22very good form.

02:23Ahead of the game, Leeds United head coach Daniel Farquhar was very complimentary of

02:28his opposite number, Frank Lampard, currently in charge of Coventry City.

02:33He made clear that Coventry City have a good philosophy in terms of their footballing style,

02:39with lots of attacking threat throughout the pitch.

02:41Meanwhile, on the injury front, Farquhar confirmed that striker Patrick Bamford will miss the

02:46Coventry clash with a niggle, but that the rest of his squad are all fully fit and available

02:52to face the Sky Blues at the CBS Arena.

02:55Another tough game for Leeds, but one they will hope to come out on top of.
