Leeds United facing promotion clash against Sunderland

00:00one of the biggest matches that Leeds probably have left this season in terms of being tied

00:04around them in the table. It is Sunderland at home of course in the reverse fixture,

00:09Leeds seconds away from winning at the Stadium of Light until an Elan Mellier howler let Sunderland

00:15get a point from the fixture. To be honest it's months on from it now and I still really don't

00:20know what happened. No don't remind me yeah. Regardless of that though you think though

00:27depending on how Sunderland do against Luton in midweek if they weren't perhaps to pick up all

00:32three points and then Leeds were to then win against Sunderland if they'd done all right

00:37against Watford as well you could probably say that might knock Sunderland a little bit just

00:41further back mightn't it at least from maybe not from Burnley or Sheffield United but certainly

00:45from Leeds. Yeah it feels a bit like that Burnley not quite as big obviously because Sunderland

00:51aren't second but it does feel quite similar to that Burnley game you know in the sense of like

00:54the six-point swing either way basically but could have a massive impact and stuff and

00:58look I think everybody you know is sort of generally speaking thinking it'll be two from

01:02three out of Leeds Sheffield United and Burnley but I don't think anybody's writing Sunderland

01:06off they're not far away you know and obviously we're speaking before the midweek games here but

01:10there's no doubt they're a good side you know some very very good players and you're dead right

01:15like that is like I mean you probably look at it and say that's the second biggest game of the

01:20season in terms of the ones coming up obviously Sheffield United one top of the bill but they're

01:23all big in their own right but with it obviously being a direct rival yeah the Sunderland away game

01:28is you know still sort of great now what happened there because obviously you know they've recovered

01:32from an early setback and played very very well and look like they're going to get all three

01:35points and obviously Melies Howler at the end but you know he's recovered from that obviously

01:39since then and stuff and you know he'll be very very keen to sort of like put the record right

01:42record straight against Sunderland as will Leeds in terms of like putting the record straight in

01:46terms of like you know getting the win they probably felt they should have got at the stadium

01:49of light but very very difficult game main thing there is obviously just don't get beat and allow

01:53Sunderland to call three points back on you but look you don't go out at Ellen Road and say don't

01:57get beat you know this is about going out there showing what Leeds can do showing that they are

02:01the best team in the division and putting Sunderland away and that will definitely be the aim

02:04it'll be interesting obviously first time back at Ellen Road since the cup defeat but hopefully

02:08it'll be a completely different atmosphere um you know and obviously the dynamic could change

02:13because obviously Leeds and Sunderland play on Monday when obviously um the other two teams

02:17Sheffield United and Burnley both play at the weekend so the gap could be a lot lot tighter so

02:21lots of ifs buts and maybes but not about the magnitude of the game huge huge fixture

02:25um we all know the players they've got like Issa Dawes a fantastic player Chris Rigg really good

02:29young talent obviously you know Bellingham Mayenda they've got some fantastic players

02:33but obviously so have Leeds and that's why the top of the division you know so um yeah a massive

02:37massive game um dead right one of the biggest games left towards the end of the season now

02:42it's all coming towards the home straight and um just one that I think everybody we're really

02:45looking forward to you know should be an amazing atmosphere um but I think it goes about saying

02:49if Leeds can get three points in that one and continue the fantastic home record then that

02:52hopefully will be a massive massive step towards our promotion so fingers crossed great game to

02:56look forward to
