00:00So our concerns remain the same. We are still on 2013 salaries. Our job
00:05evaluation exercise has been stalled. The SRC did its work, went through a job
00:13evaluation and they saw, well everybody saw, what the outcome of that was. But our
00:20job evaluation that started before that has been stalled.
00:25Kalinda, who is also a former general secretary at the PSA, says there are
00:30issues affecting members of the association that are going unaddressed
00:34and if his team is successful they will ensure those responsible pay for these
00:39atrocities. The executive of the PSA is not about dealing with grievances. You
00:46see anything that they say could give them a little 10 or 15 seconds of fame
00:51in the media? Yeah. But we have core grievances. We have core grievances.
00:57Imagine, if it is that a head of department or permanent secretary wants
01:03to destroy your career, they hit you at the performance appraisal. He says the
01:09members have the power to change the management of the PSA with their vote
01:13come March 10th. However, he says, they also have the power to leave things as
01:19they are. The representatives in all departments, all our bargaining units
01:24supposed to be a representative also, who manages them? So if you have weak reps, it
01:31means that you have a weak executive. If you have corrupt reps, it means that you
01:36have corrupt executive officers because it's about at the bottom come up. So for
01:43people to be able, for workers to feel their union, you must have competent
01:48representatives on the ground. When contacted, PSA President Leroy Batiste
01:54said Mr Calendar sought to hinder the progress of the same union he wants to
01:59lead. He publicly went on the side of the employer when we are seeking to get
02:07more than an irrational and illogical 2% that has been posed on behalf of the
02:16membership. This man went publicly and undermine the position of the General
02:23Council and the Conference of Delegates of the Public Service Association. And
02:27now he's seeking to become the president of the union. From where I sit, he simply
02:37is not worthy to call himself a trade unionist. He said Mr Calendar has
02:43disqualified himself from being a union leader. He is disqualified from
02:48where we sit and he's not deserving of any further comments. Everything that he
02:55is abrogated and creating his own illusion of what happens out there. It
03:01is not worthy of a comment because he's not worthy of being considered. Nicole
