00:39delivered a melodic tribute to his father's hit songs, earning an encore from the audience.
00:56Shalon Bailey channeled the essence of his father, The Mighty Shadow, in his performance.
01:11He admitted it was difficult to choose which of his father's many hits to perform,
01:16but based on the audience's response, his selections were clear crowd-pleasers.
01:26Circus star Nadia Batson honored one of the queens of Calypso, the late Denise Plummer, with a heartfelt tribute.
01:56Mr. Shark delivered a spirited performance in tribute to the inventor of soca music, Ras Shortiay.
02:26The event was held over the weekend at the National Academy for the Performing Arts, both at its north and south campuses.
02:38The highly talented cast was backed by Vince Rivers and the Kai Soka Unit,
02:43delivering a live musical experience, benefiting the occasion.
