00:00Bad news, Faithfuls. The date for the final of the Traitors has been confirmed.

00:05I'm TV and technology writer Matt Monaghan and this is all you need to know.

00:09So just over three weeks after it returned to our screens on January the 1st,

00:13the BBC have confirmed that the third season of the blockbuster hit,

00:17which has been even more popular this year than ever,

00:21the first episode has had a viewing figure of 10 million, the BBC have said now.

00:26But the third season is going to come to an end on Friday, January the 24th.

00:31And in that episode, a new winner or winners, depending on how things shake out,

00:37will be crowned. But there's still plenty to play for before we get to that point.

00:43The contestants are still looking to remain in the Traitors' castle and make it to the final.

00:48And of course, to get all of or a share of the prize money at the end of the competition.

00:55The money in the pot keeps going up as they take on challenges

00:59and expect that to continue over the coming days.

01:03But more important for viewers than that is there'll be more not to get caught out by the final

01:10because you might be used to the Traitors starting at 9 p.m. every day,

01:14like Wednesday, Thursday, Friday that it's on.

01:16But for the final, it's starting at the earlier time of 8.30 p.m.

01:22And it'll be a bumper episode, so it's longer than usual, which makes sense because it's the final.

01:26So it's a bigger, more dramatic episode than any that have aired in 2025.

01:31And then it'll be followed directly after by the Traitors Uncloaked,

01:35which is the companion show with Ed Gamble where they pick apart everything that's just happened in the episode.

01:41So start at 8.30 and that's going to run until 10.25.

01:45So the BBC News at 10 has been pushed back by 25 minutes,

01:49which is a pretty rare occurrence than moving back one of the flagship news events for the Traitors.

01:55So the Traitors episodes start at 8.30, not 9 p.m.

01:59So if you tune in at 9 p.m., you'll be halfway through the episode

02:02and you'll be like, what's going on?

02:04You know, what's happening?

02:06Why is it mid-action?

02:08It's because it's starting at 8.30 on Friday, January the 24th.
