00:00Hi, I'm health reporter Sarah McCann. A recent survey by Vaginal Moisturizing Brand Re-Plens
00:06has found that millennials are more prepared for the menopause than previous generations.
00:10Off the back of this, they are calling for more education and awareness for the common
00:15menopausal symptom of vaginal dryness. Vaginal dryness can happen at any age,
00:21although it is usually associated with menopause. Symptoms can include an unusual discharge,
00:27soreness or irritation, pain during sex, needing to pee more often or recurrent urinary tract infections.
00:35Whilst there has been much progress made in breaking the taboos in talking about women's
00:41health, vaginal dryness remains a sensitive subject with only 29% of women feeling comfortable
00:47discussing it according to the survey. Treatment is available. If you have been suffering from
00:53the symptoms of vaginal dryness, contact your GP to make an appointment. Treatment options include
00:59gels, creams, pessaries, medications or patches. You'll be able to discuss this with your GP.
