00:07have been charged with the misappropriation of 8 million ringgit from Kazana National Berhad,
00:13or Kazana and Permodalan National Berhad, or PNB, belonging to the company.
00:1837-year-old Vivi Yusof and 36-year-old Fadzaruddin, both pleaded not guilty after the alternative charges
00:26were read out before Sessions Court Judge Rosli Ahmad on Wednesday.
00:31They are accused of jointly and dishonestly misappropriating 8 million ringgit of Fashion Valet's investment funds
00:37from Kazana and PNB at Public Bank Berhad in Bukit Damansara on August 21, 2018.
00:45They were charged under Section 403 of the Penal Code,
00:49which provides for a maximum jail term of between six months and five years,
00:54along with caning and a fine upon conviction.
00:57Deputy Public Prosecutor Haresh Prakash Somaya requested the court to apply the same sum as in previous proceedings,
01:05which was 100,000 ringgit for each accused, with one surety.
01:09The couple's lawyer, Ashok Atimulan, raised no objections,
01:13after which the court confirmed the same bail conditions and scheduled the next mention for March 10.
01:19On December 5 last year, Vivi Yusof and Fadzaruddin pleaded not guilty to charges of criminal breach of trust
01:26involving 8 million ringgit of Kazana and PNB investment funds.
