00:2837-year-old Vivi, whose full name is Vivi Sofinas Yusuf, and 36-year-old Fadzaruddin
00:35applied to perform the Umrah pilgrimage on Sunday, January 5, and are scheduled to return
00:40to Malaysia on January 14.
00:42Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin confirmed that the prosecution had
00:48no objections to the request, provided the passports are returned to the court before
00:53the next mentioned date on January 22.
00:57Judge Rosli Ahmad granted the application, ordering the passports to be returned to the
01:02court by January 15.
01:05The couple is accused of misusing 8 million ringgit from investment funds entrusted to
01:09them as agents and directors of Fashionvalet Sendirian Berhad.
01:14They allegedly transferred the money from the company's bank account to 30 Maple Sendirian
01:20Berhad without the approval of the Board of Directors.
01:24The offence reportedly took place on August 21, 2018, at Public Bank Berhad's Bukit Damansara
01:31branch.
01:33The charges are framed under Section 409 of the Penal Code, read together with Section
01:3734, which provides for imprisonment of between 2 and 20 years, whipping and a fine upon conviction.
