00:01The Attorney General's chambers did not object to Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Sehri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's application for a full
00:08acquittal from 47 corruption charges involving Yayasan Akalbudi funds, the Kuala Lumpur High Court was informed on Tuesday.
00:16The matter was informed by Deputy Head of Prosecution to Datuk Badiyus Zaman Ahmad during proceedings.
00:24Badiyus Zaman told Presiding Judge Justice Nurul Huda Nurayni Mohamad that the prosecution would not be filing an affidavit in
00:32reply as they have no objection.
00:34When met after the proceedings, Ahmad Zahid's lawyer Hisiam Tehpoteik said he had earlier objected to the Bar Council's opposition
00:42to Ahmad Zahid's application,
00:45which was stated in a letter sent to the court on Sunday and distributed to the parties involved in the
00:50application on Tuesday morning.
00:52This morning we objected to the presence of Malaysian Bar to say that there were no locusts to come in.
00:59The court, no locusts to come in, the court invited them on the basis of Amicus Curie to address the
01:12court.
01:13All right.
01:15You see, basically it's based on the intimation by the public prosecutor.
01:19Person to a media statement given by them on the 6th of January 2026 to say that the matter has
01:26been NFA,
01:27which means they are not interested in the proceedings anymore.
01:31Under this circumstance, we come to court, ask the court to give an order of acquittal.
01:36All right.
01:37And the other consideration will be that this matter has been hanging over Dato's police aid for about two and
01:43a half years.
01:43So the law says, the law says under such circumstance, their right and proper order ought to be one of
01:50the acquittal.
01:51All right.
01:51On January 28th, Ahmad Zahid filed the application to be acquitted and discharged of 47 charges of criminal breach of
02:00trust, corruption and money laundering linked to Yayasan Akalbudi funds.
