00:03Proposals for a new housing development on the edge of a North Derbyshire village

00:07have been dealt a blow at the first stage of the planning process.

00:11North East Derbyshire District Council has turned down a bid for planning in principle

00:15for the erection of homes at Beeholme Farm off Queen Victoria Road in New Tupton.

00:20The proposal involved the demolition of existing agricultural buildings

00:24and the creation of up to seven new homes on the site,

00:27with six new builds shown in drawings submitted with the application.

00:31But the bid was refused by the council on an officer's recommendation for several reasons.

00:36These included that the site contains agricultural buildings

00:39which appear to be in use for storage,

00:41there is no planning history to suggest a change of use

00:44from agricultural buildings to any other use,

00:47the site is not considered to be vacant, derelict or previously developed land

00:51and affordable housing is not proposed for the site.

00:56A young mum who was determined to lose weight

00:58so that she could enjoy energetic playtime activities with her little girl

01:02has been honoured with a new award.

01:05Jess Westbury has shed six stone, nearly a third of her weight

01:08and dropped from a dress size 22 to 10

01:11since joining the Daneswall group of Slimming World

01:13after the birth of her daughter Ella inspired her to get in shape.

01:17Her newfound confidence has been boosted even further

01:20after being named Slimming World icon

01:22in a competition launched by the weight loss organisation.

01:26Jess, who is from Chesterfield, said

01:28It feels so normal now, but the fact that I can run around after Ella

01:31and even go down the slide with her in the park is huge for me.

01:34It's something I absolutely dreaded before.

01:37I can't wait to be the mum that wins the egg and spoon race at school now.
