'Flurrycane' buries Louisiana's state capital with snow

Residents of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, made the most of their rare snow day on Jan. 21, as a historic winter storm swept through, bringing snow and ice to the region.

00:05But today, Louisiana's capital city is experiencing a flurry cane.

00:09How do I make a snowball?

00:11It's so powdery, it doesn't even want to be compacted.

00:14The interstates, bridges, and some local roads are shut down indefinitely.

00:19Law enforcement are doing their best to keep motorists off the roads, and then along comes a new innovation.

00:26For the kids, it's a field day.

00:28Looks like Mr. Snowman isn't coming together.

00:30This snow is so fine and unusually dry.

00:33You think you're going to make it with that snowman?

00:35I don't think it's going to happen.

00:37But how about a soda float in snow?

00:40Their parents know this is probably, for them, a once-in-a-lifetime event.
