It's completely up to them if they want to change it they change it we can't
00:04
really do anything these days can we we just have to go on with what they want
00:07
to do. Bristol's clean air zone was first put
00:11
into place in 2022 as part of the council's aim to ensure Bristol meets
00:15
the legal limits of pollution within the shortest possible time but the clean air
00:20
zone charges have not risen since they were put in place in 2022 and they now
00:26
may possibly rise but what do locals think? I used to get charged I gotta
00:31
change my car when it failed its MOT this year earlier this year so now I
00:36
don't but I just avoided the clean air zone with the older vehicle. I guess it's
00:44
just a way of like trying to encourage or prevent people from taking the car as
00:49
often so yeah it's a bit of both I guess. What did you think of them putting in
00:55
place the clean air zone? It was a good idea what not without a lot of option it
01:00
was that will get done by the government it's a requirement and they should have
01:06
done it I forget three years ago five years ago something like that they're a
01:11
bit behind on it. Air pollution impacts everyone in the city of Bristol
01:16
especially children the elderly and the more vulnerable members of the city and
01:21
the aim of the clean air zone is to address the main source of pollution in
01:25
the city. The clean air zone, have you been impacted by it? I don't drive so but my
01:34
partner he has like an engine that is it can go in there so to me it doesn't
01:39
really bother me. I drive very rarely only if I have to only if I have to take
01:44
my children to or that if I have to take people somewhere but I ride the bike
01:49
mostly or walk.
01:51
Max noticed me because I don't pay. I'm walking so there's no charge for my own foot.
