To go to 6,000 cattle yarded here today,
00:03
grain steers, beautiful runner weaner steers,
00:06
grain heifers and heifers.
00:08
We started off with some very heavy steers
00:10
right at the front that were over 500 kilos.
00:12
I think they were 537 kilos,
00:13
made just to go to $4.
00:16
Once you come back into that proper feeder weight,
00:18
they were making around that 420.
00:20
When we got back into the weaners, the heavy weaners,
00:22
the 400 plus kilo weaners,
00:24
they were similar sort of money, $4 to $4.20.
00:26
Once you come off in the weight,
00:28
they kicked right up there to $4.50.
00:30
And then as the weight come back,
00:31
the lighter weaners, you know,
00:32
your 240, your 50 kilo calves are making well over $5.
00:36
That was super strong in the steer market.
00:39
The really good runner heifers,
00:41
the feeder style heifers up to sort of $3.80 or $3.90.
00:44
A lot of heifers sort of making anywhere between
00:46
sort of $3.50 and up to $3.80.
00:48
It was an extremely strong market.
00:50
A really nice yarding of cattle,
00:52
which it always is here in our January weaner sales.
00:54
And very positive on probably where we were
00:58
at the end of last year with some of the weaner sales.
01:00
It was a, yeah, it was nice to see
01:02
with a lot of Northern support
01:04
with the rain that they've had up there
01:06
and into the New England
01:07
and a few locals working in the market.
