00:15And they are switching to the Washington phenom starting now.

00:22They probably should have done this a couple of weeks ago.

00:25But there's no turning back, right?

00:27Once you do this, you know, there's no turning back.

00:29It's going to be hard to put Kirk Cousins back in.

00:32Now, listen, Panics could get injured.

00:35But moving forward, it's clear Kirk Cousins will not be on the Atlanta Falcons next year.

00:40It was a strange, they had a strange draft and strange offseason by signing both of them,

00:47right?

00:48Let's just be real.

00:49There were a lot of reports got at the time that, and I believed it, that the Falcons

00:53football people were not interested in any of the free agent quarterbacks.

00:58It was, no, we're going to draft a young quarterback.

01:01And in fact, I guess in one of those, you know, after the fact SI type of stories that

01:07they'll tell, you know, what team they were hanging around with and draft.

01:10The Falcons told like someone at SI covering the draft, like point blank, we love Michael

01:16Panics.

01:17And then they went and signed Kirk Cousins, but they still drafted Michael Panics.

01:23So you know what it is, guys, the Falcons, you have the ownership would blank, you have

01:28the football people and the coaching staff, and clearly they weren't on, not all on the

01:33same page and blank wanted the, the free agent name, the veteran player, the football people

01:39said, listen, let's just draft a quarterback and move forward.

01:43And you know, blank is the boss and he got his way and they did both.

01:47And here we are right now.

01:49I don't think it was the football people that wanted Kirk Cousins there.

01:53I think it was more of an Arthur blank.

01:54The football people wanted to draft a quarterback and did, but quite frankly, Scott, they should

01:59have done this against the Raiders.

02:00Like Panics could have beaten the Raiders, got his feet wet.

02:03All right.

02:04You got the Giants, another, another, you know, cupcake matchup.

02:07But you know, over overall, overall, I thought they should have done this sooner.

02:12They had nothing to lose.

02:13Like Kirk Cousins, like Panics could not be worse.

02:18Like, it's not like anybody could be worse.

02:20You and I could go in there and do what Kirk Cousins is doing for them.

02:32Do you think, because I do, that Thomas Dimitrov did a better job running the Falcons.

02:36He got him to the Super Bowl.

02:38He did a better job drafting and then they got rid of him and they've never been the

02:42same since.

02:44And your story rings true about how bad they screwed this up with the different people

02:51with different philosophies instead of someone calling the shots that knew what they were

02:55doing.

02:56I don't believe for one minute that Arthur Blank knows what he's doing.

02:58I don't believe he knows anything about football.

03:00He likes to stand on the sideline in his purple coat and it's velour, it's very nice.

03:05And do you believe that the kid, so do you believe Dimitrov would have been better served

03:10if they kept him?

03:11And then do you believe that the kid will be as good as he was in college?

03:15Because he got rid of the ball, I thought, quicker than any quarterback I ever saw.

03:18I loved his style.

03:20He's actually really built for the National Football League Panics.

03:24His arm, like you said, he's got a laser, a very, very quick delivery, right?

03:29And the ball, it's awkward.

03:31The delivery is awkward, you know, and it turns some people off.

03:36That's what they didn't like about him and, oh, he was a little bit older and all this.

03:38Yeah, well, Bo Nix is a little bit older too and how's that working out right now?

03:42I mean, let's be real, Falcons would have been better off just starting Panics from

03:47the start and not even signing Kirk Cousins and moving forward, but a lot of teams get

03:52stuck, right?

03:53They think, oh, you know, they see the name.

03:55I've always been a Dimitrov fan.

03:58I mean, he's got CFL connections going to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Scott.
