00:00Okay, so let's talk about the Cousins situation.

00:10First of all, let me explain the contract because I think some people are confused.

00:14Next year, his base salary is actually very reasonable, $27.5 million.

00:18It's fully guaranteed.

00:19They're not going to cut him.

00:20They'll look to move him the best way that they can.

00:22He also has a $10 million roster bonus that becomes fully guaranteed in March.

00:26So you're really trading $37.5 million.

00:44But there are only two quarterbacks who are going to go in the first round in this year,

00:48this coming draft in 2025 in May, Cam Ward, the Miami quarterback, and Shador Sanders

00:54of Colorado.

00:55That's it right now.

00:56So there's just not enough good quarterbacks to go around.

00:59I know Cousins is wildly consistent, terrible over the last five games.

01:02Before that, actually playing pretty well.

01:04But the Falcons here are saying, look, it didn't work.

01:09When you bench a quarterback who's making over $60 million with everything that was

01:14due to him this season, they're telling you what they think.

01:17They're done with him.

01:18They're going to Michael Penix, who shocked us when you and I were doing the draft cards.

01:21We were shocked at that draft pick.

01:24But now's the time.

01:26I know publicly they'll never admit that, hey, it's the Giants, but it is the Giants.

01:30They're at home.

01:31This is a game, by the way, the Giants have 20 players, Scott, on their injury report.

01:37This is a good game for Penix to do well in his first appearance as a starting quarterback.

01:43He's a super aggressive thrower, Scott.

01:45That's what the Falcons and other teams like.

01:47By the way, the Raiders loved him for this draft, this past draft.

01:51I'm looking for Penix to do very well in his first start.

01:53And they are loaded, by the way, in offense.

01:55They've got to get Kyle Pitts the football, and that starts against those Giants.
