Detroit gas station shuttered after clerk shoots at shoplifter

A west side Detroit gas station has been shut down by police after a clerk allegedly shot at a shoplifter -- who then jumped onto the Lodge Freeway, was hit by a car and killed. WWJ's Charlie Langton reports.

00:12A shoplifter apparently went inside, shoplifter in the car came outside, allegedly started

00:19shooting.

00:20The suspect ran across here to the Lodge, jumped on the Lodge and was killed.

00:27There have been no criminal charges yet, but the police did close the station down.

00:33Apparently there was a similar incident of a shooting in 2003.

00:37And apparently police don't like this.

00:42No charges yet for that court.
