00:08The former Padang Besar UMNO chief revealed that his submission into PKR was endorsed

00:14by party president Anwar Ibrahim.

00:17Zahidi said he aimed to introduce a fresh approach to politics, particularly by increasing

00:23Malay's support for PKR in Perlis.

00:27He also expressed his commitment to strengthening the party's position in Perlis ahead of the

00:3216th general election.

00:35Zahidi said he is working to increase the PKR branches in Perlis from 60 to 400 to boost

00:41public support, Utusan Malaysia reported.

00:45He also criticized the lack of progress Perlis faced under Perikatan Nasional's administration,

00:51particularly in generating state revenue.

00:55Zahidi was dropped as a Barisan Nasional candidate for the Padang Besar parliamentary

01:00seat in GE15.

01:02He contested as an independent, resulting in the automatic termination of his UMNO membership.
