Parcel theft in the UK has risen sharply with recent data highlighting a cost of over £370

the average value of stolen goods increasing to £102.

These incidents are often referred to as porch piracy and have grown significantly, partly

driven by the increase in online shopping during the cost of living crisis.

Police and consumer organisations recommend taking steps to mitigate these thefts, such

as tracking deliveries, using secure parcel lockers or arranging for packages to be delivered

to trusted neighbours.

However, many cases remain unreported, with about one in 333 thefts being officially logged
