00:14Assassin's Creed games.

00:29The Pottsy Conspirators – Assassin's Creed 2

00:42Sometimes Assassin's Creed doesn't need to take any creative license with historical

00:46events because the real history is so exciting.

00:49The Pottsy Conspiracy is one such case.

00:52It began when Lorenzo and Giuliano de Medici were attacked by the Conspirators, something

00:57the game reproduces on a mission where Ezio must protect Lorenzo in the aftermath.

01:02And in real life too, the Conspirators responsible were ruthlessly hunted down and killed by

01:07mobs of Florentines loyal to the Medicis.

01:15Ezio doesn't need to kill all 80 of them, but he does track half a dozen of them across

01:20Tuscany.

01:21And when Ezio kills Francesco, he hangs his body from the Palazzo della Signoria, which

01:26the mobs did do to the Conspirators in real life.

01:36Sebran – Assassin's Creed

01:38It's a little difficult to ascertain the historical accuracy of the first game.

01:51Not a lot of written records survive about the biggest figures of the day as they fought

01:54for control of the Holy Land.

01:57With that said, some are still more correct than others.

02:00Robert Di Sabla, for instance, actually died in 1193, not 1191 as the game depicts, while

02:07William of Montefiore died in Lebanon, not Syria.

02:10Sebran, though, did die in 1191 and in the city of Acre.

02:21Unfortunately, like many Crusaders, we don't know how he died.

02:27We actually don't know his first name either.

02:30But because of that, nobody can prove that he WASN'T assassinated in Acre's port,

02:35not without a time machine anyway.

02:41Marco Barbargio – Assassin's Creed II

02:44That's it! Your pistola!

02:46The one you stopped the murderer with.

02:48It's as loud as those explosions.

02:50Time it right, and you'll walk out of here unnoticed.

02:54Though the most bombastic assassination in Assassin's Creed II was flying into the

02:59palace to assassinate Carlo Grimaldi, not only did Da Vinci's flying machine almost

03:04definitely never work, but Grimaldi wasn't a real person.

03:08However, Ezio's other Venetian targets, the Barbargio family, were real.

03:14Welcome, my friends, to the grandest social event of the season.

03:18At peace or at war, in times of prosperity or paucity, Venezia will always have carnival!

03:27In-game, Ezio uses Barbargio's brother, Agostino, to plot Marco's death so that

03:32he can take over as the Doge of Venice, which he did.

03:35Ezio is a noble himself, working in tandem with other Italian aristocrats to track down

03:40Marco at a private party and kill him.

03:43However, the dates are a little off.

03:45Barbargio died in August, while in the game, his death takes place around Venice's carnival,

03:51which ends on Mardi Gras.

03:54No, it's too soon.

03:58Robotsphere, Assassin's Creed Unity

04:02He's the only entry on our list not personally assassinated by the player,

04:13but he still encounters them during the dramatic coup that ousted him from power.

04:17Elise and Arno track him down in the Hotel de Ville with the rebels at the gate.

04:22And we see that, in Ubisoft's version of events, Elise is the one who shoots Robotsphere

04:27in the jaw and leaves him to the wolves.

04:30I don't have much time. Where is Gemma?

04:32I will never talk.

04:35In real life, he was shot in the jaw, and nursed the injury all night until his eventual

04:41execution the following day.

04:43We don't know exactly how it happened, but most historians believe the story of Robotsphere's

04:48injury was actually self-inflicted in a failed attempt to avoid execution.

04:54Seize him!

05:00Cleopatra, Assassin's Creed Origins

05:03Through me, Memphis shines as rubies set in gold.

05:10Through me, Egypt triumphs!

05:14Popular myth says that Cleopatra died after being bitten by an asp, a venomous snake native

05:19to Egypt. But this isn't true, and in fact, Cleopatra is generally believed to have taken

05:26her own life with poison. Other scholars, however, suspect that she was murdered, and

05:31as her final resting place has never been discovered, we have no way to know for sure.

05:37All I have is that I am pushed further. One more attempt to snuff me out.

05:41My Queen, rest and remember that...

05:44In Origins, Aya, angered at Cleopatra betraying the people of Egypt in favor of Rome, persuades

05:50Cleopatra to end it all, or Aya will return and finish the job herself.

05:54We don't see the moment it happens, and it's all implication, but with the context of Cleopatra's

05:59imminent death, it's clear what Aya means.

06:03Everything for which we have worked for so long is now ours!

06:14Al Mutawakku, Assassin's Creed Mirage

06:17Out, all of you! I am to meet with them alone.

06:25In 861, the Caliph At-Muqallatil was murdered by his own guards as part of a long plot to

06:31oust him in favor of his oldest son after he angered the powerful military commanders

06:36he'd come to rely on.

06:37In Mirage, the Caliph is holding an Isu artifact for the Order of the Ancients.

06:43Basim!

06:52Assassin's Creed Mirage!

06:55And Basim sneaks into the Winter Palace in Anbar to steal it.

06:58In the struggle, Nahal assassinates Caliph and his second and favorite son walks in on

07:03the scene.

07:04Though no thief was involved with the assassination in real life, the instability that follows

07:08the Caliph's assassination drives much of Mirage.

07:12Run!

07:13Nahal, wait!

07:14Father!

07:17Get that boy!

07:19Charles Lee, Assassin's Creed III

07:21You put us down, we rise again.

07:24You end one plot, we forge another.

07:29You try so hard, but it always ends the same.

07:32After decades of conflict, Connor finally tracks down Charles Lee, the last Templar

07:38on his list.

07:40He pursues him through Boston as Lee tries to leave and the two engage in an infamous

07:44chase, until Lee ultimately escapes and then goes all the way to Philadelphia.

07:59If you don't know the details of how and where Charles Lee actually died, you may have

08:04thought that Lee, gravely wounded, going all the way to Philly just for Connor to kill

08:09him in a bar was strange.

08:11But it's because Lee, of course, did not die in Boston, but during a visit to Philadelphia,

08:17hence the long pursuit.

08:19He wasn't assassinated though, instead dying of a fever.

08:33Julius Caesar, Assassin's Creed Origins

08:36Out, all.

08:39What will each be sent for when our congress is concluded?

08:43I wish to hear both Ptolemies' side of the story.

08:47Before going for Cleopatra, Aya has a different famous face on her list.

08:51She arrives in Rome after it's become clear that Caesar is being manipulated by the Order

08:56of the Ancients, led by Flavius and Septimus.

08:59In disguise, she sneaks into the Roman Senate and observes Caesar making a speech to his

09:04fellow Romans.

09:05Only when Aya steps out of the shadows and assassinates him do the other Senators join

09:11in, including Brutus, as we find out that the Senators responsible were some of the

09:16first members of the Hidden Ones.

09:18This is all relatively accurate to how the Ides of March played out in real life.

09:24The tyrant is dead, you are free now!

09:30Bartholomew Roberts, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag

09:34By two legends, how can I not be impressed by the attention you pay?

09:40May the best of you sing praises of the second!

09:44Following Roberts' brutal betrayal of Edward, he ends up being one of the last targets in

09:49the game.

09:50Edward pursues him to West Africa again when Roberts flees at the last minute.

09:55Edward boards the jackdaw and begins to chase the royal fortune with Roberts on board, eventually

10:00getting near enough to enter open conflict.

10:04Fire!

10:06Fire!

10:08We're ready sir!

10:11He boards the royal fortune and assassinates Roberts, who asks him as his dying wish to

10:16bury him at sea to stop the Templars from finding his body.

10:20A merry life and a short one, as promised.

10:25How well I know myself.

10:27This is all very true.

10:29Roberts did die during a sea battle off the coast of Africa, and did wish to be buried

10:34at sea, which he was.

10:37For what's peace but a confusion between two wars?

10:40Oh, you're a stoic then.

10:43But perhaps I was wrong about you.

10:46John Picarne, Assassin's Creed III

10:52I'll be damned.

10:54He did it.

10:55The Battle of Bunker Hill is one of the most infamous missions in the series for its tedious

11:00optional objectives, one of which being to air-assassinate the British leader, John Picarne,

11:06without being detected.

11:08By carefully maneuvering through the enemy camp, this is relatively simple, but requires

11:12you to use one specific platforming route to reach Picarne on his horse.

11:25In real life, Picarne did die in battle at Bunker Hill, though he wasn't stabbed by someone

11:32jumping from a tree.

11:33He was shot and killed in the battle's trenches while leading his men, rather than standing

11:38back and sending them to their deaths.

11:40But you can shoot him if you like, you just won't get full synchronization if you do.

11:46You wield your blade like a man, but your knife like a child.

11:55And more will die in her.

11:57Because of her.
