00:00I'm Stephanie.
00:01My name is Evan.
00:02I found Stephanie on a Filipino dating app.
00:05I do all the cooking, cleaning, washing.
00:09The comments that we get online are kind of like this.
00:13Did you pay for this one?
00:15Bro imported a slave.
00:17I did have concerns.
00:19Why did you feel the need to get married so fast?
00:26Morning love.
00:28Smells good.
00:32I'm Evan and this is my wife Stephanie.
00:35People judge my relationship because I'm from the Philippines
00:38and my husband spent $20,000 to bring me here in the United States.
00:43So after downloading all of the American dating apps,
00:46I actually matched with a girl from the Philippines
00:50who had changed her location to America.
00:52I decided to download a Filipino dating app just to see what's out there
00:57and right away I matched with Stephanie.
01:00After three and a half weeks of talking and getting to know
01:03the most beautiful and funny girl,
01:05I decided to book my flight to go see her.
01:07The moment he landed in the Philippines,
01:10he asked me to be, you know, your girlfriend
01:14and yeah, we became official.
01:16Flying to the Philippines is not cheap.
01:19It's about $2,000 round trip.
01:22I'd say I spend about $5,000 each trip.
01:25So about $15,000 for the three trips.
01:28I do all the cooking, cleaning, washing,
01:32but it's just normal household chores.
01:36Stephanie is a great cook.
01:37I'm very lucky.
01:39She cooks everything.
01:41When people say Stephanie's my maid,
01:44I don't take it personal because I know that we are both happy
01:47and we have a good thing going between the two of us.
01:50When I got here for sure, I was like,
01:53oh, the house is pretty big
01:55and I'm going to be cleaning the whole house.
02:00I've never used this appliances that you have.
02:02First time with a dishwasher.
02:04Dishwasher, the dryer, the vacuum.
02:08In the Philippines, we make fire manually
02:11and then we wash by hand.
02:14We have to fetch water and we have to pump the water
02:18and put it in our bathroom.
02:20Love, you ready to go meet my mom?
02:23Yeah, I'm coming.
02:24Today, we are meeting up with my mom, Susan,
02:27to hear a little bit more about her thoughts on our relationship.
02:30I know she tried to portray that she was super supportive
02:35and being there for us,
02:37but I do believe privately she had some apprehension, some concerns.
02:41When Evan met Stephanie, it's quite a distance away
02:44to have a long distance relationship with someone.
02:47So I wasn't quite sure how that was all going to work itself out.
02:51The whole visa process, I knew that coming here,
02:55it would really be a fresh start for her.
02:58And I was concerned about, well, what's the next step once she gets here?
03:03When I first told you about Stephanie, did you have any concerns?
03:08I did have concerns, especially the first visit.
03:11You were going very far away.
03:14You're the foreigner and you look like a foreigner.
03:17And you're going to a country to meet a woman that you
03:25don't know that well, in my eyes.
03:28So, yeah, I didn't know what you were going to get yourself into.
03:32Why did you feel the need to get married so fast?
03:35Things did move quick.
03:37Right.
03:39And that's part of the process.
03:42All these photos here are photos of us in America.
03:46Some of these big photos here are of our elopement,
03:49our secret little wedding we had.
03:51During our first visit, we talked about filing the fiancé visa and moving to the U.S.
03:57So part of the process, we have 90 days to get married from her arrival into the U.S.
04:02We did a secret elopement, the two of us.
04:05That was June.
04:06And then just this past Sunday, we had a wedding with my family.
04:11This is my elopement dress.
04:14So cutesy.
04:16Mom and I went to the local bridal shop and then we picked this.
04:22And this one is pretty classy.
04:24Oh, you look beautiful.
04:25We're looking to get a third pretty soon when we set up our
04:30big, more traditional wedding in the Philippines.
04:33My reservations went away very quickly.
04:36Something that I have to tell you that I haven't told you before,
04:40when you got off the plane and you were waiting for him
04:44and you saw him, you were just so excited.
04:49I was in tears and it was just so genuine.
04:53And that really kind of locked it in, knowing how much you cared.
04:58That was like the most amazing feeling,
05:00like being welcomed off the plane to you with all this energy.
05:05I know you're both on social media.
05:08I am a little curious, like what do other people say?
05:11So we'll be filming our Tik Tok.
05:15What do you got in mind?
05:16Stephanie's the mastermind behind all of our content.
05:20The comments that we get online are kind of like,
05:22you could not find someone in the US.
05:26She can milk your money dry, boy.
05:31Did you pay for this one?
05:33Bro imported a slave, found a housekeeper and maid.
05:37Imagine wanting to become a slave.
05:40This is the result of colonization.
05:42Gold digger.
05:44Probably get more comments that say,
05:45I'm punching up, so she's too beautiful for me.
05:49But then also sometimes we'll get other comments from maybe Filipinos that will say,
05:54why do all the foreigners like the exotic girl?
05:57In the Philippines, I did not reach the standard beauty
06:04beauty that, you know, everyone wants.
06:08I guess in the Philippines, you know, lighter skin is preferred.
06:11So sometimes she'll get comments about her darker skin,
06:16as though it's a bad thing and her flat nose, which I think is so cute.
06:21But you should have chosen a prettier one, dude.
06:25Sometimes it makes me sad, of course, but it's social media.
06:29It's like open for people to judge us.
06:32We brush off most of the hate comments and try not to reply to too many.
06:37But any type of interaction helps us go viral.
06:41So we don't we don't mind it.
06:44One, four, five, six, seven, eight.
06:47Five, six, seven, eight.
06:49Six, seven, eight.
06:51Seven, eight.
06:52Eight.
06:54Sometimes we play into a bit of our hate comments.
06:57She's only with me for money,
07:00or she's going to take all my money and then leave me.
07:03Sometimes we play into it a little bit and get interaction that way.
07:09There's a misconception that everyone from all over the world wants to come to America.
07:14And in reality, that's not always the case.
07:17I always wanted to work abroad, but never United States.
07:21It's never on my list.
07:23I told Evan before, like, if only he can just move to the Philippines with me,
07:28I would love that.
07:29But he's too young to move.
07:31I can't retire yet.
07:33Of course I miss the Philippines.
07:35I always miss the Philippines.
07:37I had a couple friends and family members tell me like,
07:43oh, you know, you're a good catch in America.
07:46Why are you going to the Philippines?
07:47Friends questioned if she was in this relationship for love or if it's just for a green card.
07:53She had a few friends that were a little skeptical.
07:56Yeah.
07:56If I was real.
07:57She had some family members that thought maybe I was too young,
08:01even though, you know, I'm four and a half years older.
08:04I just wanted to tell you, Evan, how, you know, happy I am with your choice.
08:11And Stephanie, I think you are really good for Evan.
08:15Let's play tennis.
08:17Stephanie has made me a much better person in a lot of ways.
08:21She's gotten me out of my shell.
08:23Usually I'm introverted and she's the extrovert.
08:27But she's helped me, you know, be more social and enjoy life.
08:34Evan changed my life in a lot of ways also.
08:37I mean, aside from him bringing me here, that really changed my whole life.
08:45I feel more confident with myself because even if I look so bad waking up,
08:53you're just, oh, you're so beautiful.
08:55For people that judge us, we just say, stay tuned.
