Appeal or reinstate, these are the options Minister in the Ministry of National Security Keith Scotland points to, as a means of rectifying the recent discharge of the High Court case involving seven police officers.


The Minister believes what transpired doesn't auger well for anyone.

00:00The charges against the officers were linked to allegations of extortion of businessmen in Sangre Grandi
00:05But the discharging of the charges came as a result of a failure by police
00:10To operate within the time frame provided by the court to present critical evidence and fitted to that

00:22Minister responsible for policing Keith Scotland isn't pleased
00:26It is never a good development when
00:32case like that
00:34Comes to an end prematurely. No one benefits. Justice is not served. The public interest is not served
00:40but the
00:41In the powers that be they who in charge of prosecution. They have two options. One is the appeal
00:48And the other is to reinstate it and relay the charges
00:51I'm not purporting to give advice, but they would know what they have to do, but all is not lost
00:56But it's still not a good fit
00:58When these things happen, he says the public would want the seven accused officers to have their day in court
