00:00Head or tails, the curse of the toss, that seems to be haunting the West Indies who lost
00:11a third straight toss and as a result a third straight T20 match against England who just
00:17happened to clinch the 5 match series 3-0.
00:20Captain Rotherman Powell was the standout with a half century as the maroon men laboured
00:24to 145 and despite a defiant 4 wicket hold from Akeel Hussein, England resisted the win
00:30by 3 wickets to take the 5 match series 3-0.
00:54Head or tails as Ruston Chase and Shimran Hetmaya were flummoxed by Shaqib Mahmood who
00:58had 3 scalps.
01:01The middle order under pressure once again would get rafting nuts from skipper Powell
01:06and the enterprising Romario Sheppard.
01:08Sheppard though departed on 30 to Jamie Overton.
01:13Overton would also grab 3 wickets removing the skipper after an invaluable 54.
01:19At 113 for 8, Windies were on course for a small score but 32 from Alzari Joseph and
01:24Akeel Hussein would take them to a decent score of 145 for 8.
01:29145 was the Windies smallest total of the series but it would prove their most competitive.
01:36That's because Akeel Hussein had filled salt and just bottled up back in the stands with
01:4132 runs on the board.
01:45Hill jacks would make an almost runnable 33 but wickets from Budokish Moti and Alzari
01:52Joseph would mean the Caribbean men were fighting at 75 for 4.
01:56Sam Curran's 26 of 41 and 39 of 28 from Leon Livingstone would tilt the scale in England's
02:03favour.
02:04Failing to hold on to catches didn't help the West Indies scores as well.
02:11Akeel Hussein followed up Terence Hines' maiden T20 wicket with 2 more himself.
02:16He would impress with 4 wickets for 22 runs but Jamie Overton and Red Ahmed managed the
02:21final right, confirming the Windies defeat, the host losing by 3 wickets as England sealed
02:27victory in the T20 series.
02:29Terence Klaar, Team Six Sports.
02:32Well the troublesome toss has been the X factor in this T20 series as it was in the ODIs and
02:38Akeel Hussein while admitting it has made life harder for the team batting first, he
02:43said they ought to adjust and do better.
02:45It's always difficult you know a toss being 50-50 and as you said we're not using it as
02:51an excuse but you know it is a little more challenging you know batting first with the
02:57pitch being a little slower than usual or you might get some seam movement as we saw
03:02earlier today so there is a challenge, it produces a challenge you know batting first.
03:08But you know as professionals we have to find a way around it.
03:11Each team have felt you know the pain it can cause you to go and bat first you know with
03:16England in the one days as well you know when they had to bat first they had their challenges
03:19as well and now you can see with us but with that being said we're all professionals and
03:23we need to find a way around it you know whether it be you take a slower start or a more cautious
03:28approach and then you explode you know in the middle phase and in the back end of the
03:32game we just have to come up with strategy and find a better way.
03:37Well despite taking four wickets Hussein said it was a bittersweet performance for him and
03:42touched on the change in bowling tactics with him bowling more on the back end.
03:47Kudos to Rovman Powell you know we had a lot of chat yesterday and it's about trusting
03:51guys and believing in them and allowing our fast bowlers to use their new ball skills
03:56as well in the power play yes we know it's difficult but you know it's a bright light
04:01shining on our bowling unit as well.
04:03Going forward to see that you know there's any most guys now can put their hands up and
04:08accept that challenge with the new ball so I think going forward it's only a benefit
04:12for us.
04:14And despite already losing the T20 series to England the CWI selectors have made one
04:19change to the squad bringing in left arm seamer Obed McCoy replacing swing bowler Matthew
04:25Ford.
04:26Ford who was named a player of the series in the ODI's picked up a left thigh injury
04:31during training on Wednesday.
04:33CWI said he will be monitored and should work his way back to full recovery.
04:38Others replaced Matt McCoy himself is returning from injuries suffered during the CPL.
04:44McCoy has a career of 49 T20 wickets in 38 internationals playing for the West Indies.
04:53Let's reel in the action as the Red Force have secured a spot in the semi-finals of
04:58the regional super 50 but they will be missing a couple important pieces to their success
05:04this season.
05:05That's because the national team will have to do without the services of their skipper
05:09Joshua De Silva and pacer Anderson Phillips.
05:12The pair will be joining the West Indies test squad to face Bangladesh.
05:17As a result Daniel Williams will replace De Silva as keeper and fast bowler Terence Hines
05:22will rejoin the TNT squad after the current T20 series against England.
05:27The CWI hasn't yet announced the full test squad to face Bangladesh who by the way will
05:31start their tour of the Caribbean with a match on Sunday.
05:35Windies will play Bangladesh in two tests followed by three T20s and three one day internationals.
