00:06and he's the Joker baby. In spite of all of that, the funny thing about Gladiator's depiction of

00:13Commodus is that it kind of comes off as pro-Commodus propaganda. Like, if Commodus meant

00:20anything to you in terms of real political consequences in your life, this would be the

00:25equivalent of that new Reagan movie. You'd be sitting there screaming about the whitewashing

00:30of history and whatnot. A brief inventory. In real life, Commodus didn't want to bone his sister,

00:36which sounds good, until I add that he didn't want to bone her so hard that he had her exiled

00:42and murdered. A lot of folks plotted against Okami, including his sister, and historians of

00:49the time largely consider him to be the worst emperor Rome ever had.

00:53If they don't respect me, how can they ever love me?
