Is the internet a safe place for kids today, do you agree with setting limits on their use of social media - or should we keep kids off social media completely?
Transcript
00:00Yeah, I'd agree. I think social media can be a helpful tool, but it's also very dangerous.
00:05So, I don't think it's a dangerous place, but I think it could be a lot safer.
00:10So, yes, placing limits on, I'm a big fan of that, because it's very easy for people to trick young kids.
00:17It's easy for people to trick adults, so kids are very vulnerable.
00:22And, you know, so I have a lot of nieces and nephews with kids,
00:26and I was pleased to see things like, is it EE, have a page that you can go to on the phone discussion?
00:35Nasty side of social media is all the posts and all the stuff that kids are exposed to.
00:39I think that stuff should be carefully monitored and changed in lots of ways,
00:42but keeping them off altogether, I think, removes really valuable learning of,
00:48A, being able to distinguish between truth and not, and being able to think on your own about different things.
00:54So, I think, not just banning it, but also introducing literacy and understanding of it as well.
