Australia is set to ban social media for under-16s. What concerns, if any, do you have about children using social media, and do you think the UK should consider similar restrictions?

00:04Yeah, no, I think that's a good idea. I mean, the challenge will be, obviously, won't it?

00:08Verifying their age. I mean, supposedly, they don't sign up these days, but they still do.

00:13So if they can get around those technical hurdles, I think it's a good idea, because obviously,

00:18I think social media presents children, not only children, I think all of us,

00:23with, you know, huge challenges, which I probably didn't face when I was growing up.

00:29So, yeah, I mean, there's many good things as well. So it's about trying to iron out the differences.

00:36Yeah, children should be protected. So I think if it's about protection, then I'm for it, really, yeah.

00:45Do you think the UK should perhaps consider similar restrictions?

00:49I don't know. I would say possibly no. I think parents need to take control and own the situation.
