Hi, and welcome back to another episode of The Land's Last Lot, where we take a look
00:09
at some of the stud stock results and trends across New South Wales. I'm journalist Elke
00:14
Demby.
00:15
And I'm livestock editor Rebecca Natch. This week, we're looking for the most influential
00:19
non-Angus stud. We decided to do this by checking out how many bulls are sold at auction. And
00:25
this is only New South Wales studs and only New South Wales sales.
00:29
Starting us off strong at number 10 is Powergrove, Charolais and Ultra Black. The New South Wales
00:34
and Queensland-based stud sold 53 bulls to a top of $28,000 to average $12,754. Merry
00:41
War Herefords of Boggabilla cleared 54 head to $24,000 five times to average $14,370.
00:50
Coming in eighth, Yugulbar Santa Gertrudis sold 67 bulls to a top of $34,000 to average
00:56
$10,746. They were closely followed by Injamirah Herefords of Bookbook, which cleared 85 bulls
01:04
to $75,000, averaging $11,922.
01:09
In sixth place were Runa Herefords of Holbrook, sold 90 of 131 bulls across two sales to a
01:15
top at $42,000 to average $10,121. Breaking into the top five, Baradine Stud Ferturity
01:22
Pastoral sold 90 head of Charolais and Shorthorns to $32,500 to average $10,172.
01:30
Also one to watch this season was Ironbark Herefords at Barabar. They sold 100 head to $70,000, averaging $10,230.
01:39
Claiming third is Adelong's Yeavenvale Hereford, which sold 140 bulls to $96,000, averaging $8,675.
01:49
In second place is Hicks Meath of the Foot of Brook, which sold 147 bulls across two sales,
01:55
topping at $36,000 to average $10,938. Finally taking gold and topping our list
02:02
as the most influential non-anchor stud of the season is Treadbridge Wagoo from Armadale.
02:08
They cleared 169 bulls to a top of $55,000 for a very impressive average of $20,461.
02:17
Yeah, very impressive result for Treadbridge. Only their second on property sale, would you believe?
02:21
And congratulations to the entire top 10. And if you want to read more of these results
02:26
and see the full breakdown, it's all available via the Lens website. And stay tuned for our
02:31
next episodes where we take a look at the most influential meat and sheep breeds,
