It’s time to get become aware.

As awareness and support to kick out male cancers was the objective this weekend as the Ballers Against Cancer event was held at the Diego Martin Sporting Complex on the weekend.

The likes of football legend Russell Latapy, Lendyl Simmons and member of the strike squad joined with media personalities, national cricketers and two masters teams to support the event.

And while football provided the entertainment health screenings and cancer awareness was the main message.

00:00There were some strike squad legends among the Takaragawa All-Stars team with the likes
00:04of Russell Attepee, Hudson Charles, Marvin Forstin, Brian Williams and Clayton Morris.
00:10But it wasn't only made up of football stars as TV6's James Saunders was among them.
00:14The Takaragawa All-Stars squared off against the TNT Regulars Masters in the second match
00:19but before that the Media All-Stars team were beaten by the ex-National Cricketers team.
00:25While James Saunders isn't a football star by any stretch, he still managed to find his
00:29name on the score sheet and he even managed a little give and go with the little magician
00:46himself.
01:07The Takaragawa All-Stars won the match 4-1 and even had time to let some chances go.
01:12But it was all in good fun as the battle rally wasn't on the field but against cancer,
01:17in particular male cancers.
01:19While the turnout from supporters wasn't as expected, former strike squad captain Clayton
01:24Morris said it was a cause he wasn't going to miss.
01:26However, for event organiser Dave Griffith, the fight against cancer, especially among
01:49men, is one he hopes can gain recognition and support locally.
