A two-day forum on amateur football in T&T brought together stakeholders as well the TTFA and FIFA's Global Football Development Division.

The Forum was held at the home of football in Couva, as they presented the findings of an assessment of amateur football in the country.
Transcript
00:00The TFA cannot organize all amateur football, right? But they should be informed what's happening.
00:05They should know what's happening. They should know who are the ones organizing a futsal competition in the East
00:12or who is organizing a mini camp for kids. They should know everything that's happening in football.
00:20The forum was facilitated by FIFA regional technical consultants Ian Greenwood and David Abdul
00:25as they presented the amateur football environmental analysis report specifically on Trinidad and Tobago.
00:31It was one of the biggest analyses done on amateur football.
00:35The goal was to present the global report and the country-specific report for Trinidad and Tobago.
00:43We had the stakeholders together because at the end of the day, the TFA cannot organize all the amateur football.
00:50There's a lot of stakeholders that are organizing football activities.
00:54And also we had the second day, we had the internal staff to go more into the specific of the
01:01country of Trinidad and Tobago
01:03with the calls to action for Trinidad and Tobago and to create action points to do for the next four
01:11years.
01:11Among the stakeholders included representatives from the sport company, TTFE, corporate partners,
01:16regional football zones, UWI, world football and the media.
01:21And with the findings shared, the FIFA technical consultant pointed out the challenges and the next steps for amateur football
01:27development in TNT.
01:29We think that infrastructure is a big challenge in terms of amateur football and also the different programs.
01:37There's a lot of amateur football taking place, a lot of sweats taking place, a lot of people playing the
01:42game.
01:43It's now to create a structure, to create a strategic plan on amateur football.
01:47How can we develop the game on short, mid and long term?
01:50And I'm sure that once the TTFE has this in place, and it's normal that they don't have it yet
01:56in place
01:57because FIFA is now introducing programs for amateur football for the next cycle.
02:02So it's logically that now is the time to create this strategic plan on amateur football.
