It's a bitter pill for Caribbean fans to swallow.

This as they exited the Women's T20 World Cup at the semi-final stage following their eight-run loss to New Zealand in Sharjah.

The White Ferns were restricted to 128 for 9, with Deandra Dottin taking four wickets.

In reply, Dottin hit 33 in vain as the Windies could only get to 120 for 8 from their 20 overs.

00:00Well, the journey is over for Caribbean cricket fans, as despite a spirited fight from D'Andrea
00:17Dutton, the West Indies fell eight runs short of a place in the Women's World Cup Finals.
00:21Well, that's when they were beaten by New Zealand in today's semi-final.
00:25The White Ferns looked in trouble after Dutton took four wickets to restrict them to 128
00:31for nine, but the total proved just out of the reach of the battling Windies.
00:38New Zealand won the toss and chose to bat against the West Indies in the second semi-final
00:42of the Women's T20 World Cup in Georgia.
00:44Susie Bates and Georgia Plimmer were the openers for the White Ferns.
00:50They put on a partnership of 48 and 8.2 overs.
00:56Bates would fall for 26, while Plimmer was gone for a top score of 33.
01:01D'Andrea Dutton was brilliant with white leather in hand.
01:07Affie Fletcher also bowled well and picked up two wickets.
01:12But Dutton would go on to grab four for 22 from her four overs.
01:18Isabella Gaze chipped in with an unbeaten 20 for her team.
01:26Two wickets fell in the final over as New Zealand were restricted to 128 for 9 from
01:3120 overs.
01:33When West Indies responded, they were soon in trouble at 20 for 2 with Eden Carson doing
01:38the damage.
01:39Made that 41 for 3 when star player Stefani Taylor was dismissed for 13 with Carson taking
01:45all the wickets.
01:47Half the side was gone with 63 on the board in the 14th over.
01:55Dutton was the only player to make a score of significance getting 33 with 3 maximums.
02:01She was dismissed by Amelia Kerr who was cheese pairing with 2 for 14 from 4 overs.
02:10With 15 to get of the last over, Zeta James struck a 4 of the first ball.

02:298 and lost by 8 runs.
02:32It means New Zealand will meet South Africa in Sunday's final.
02:35Vinod Naumani keeps export.
02:39Despite the knock on the chin, Windy's captain Hayley Matthews was full of praise for her
02:43bowlers while pinpointing the cause of her team's downfall.
02:50We bowled really well up front and we did have them within a really good run rate while
02:55we were playing.
02:56Probably just got away a bit at the end but I think we can't blame it on the bowlers here.
03:02At the beginning of the day, I think we would have taken 127 no doubt and yeah, I think
03:06with the bat, we probably just weren't able to get going very early on and that put us
03:09under a bit of pressure.
03:10Yeah, well we actually felt based on the wicket, there were probably a few runs short and we
03:15just wanted to stay really positive.
03:16Same thing with Kiana Joseph up at the top of the order but yeah, like I said, we just
03:20really never got it going.
