00:00There are some very easy fixes to the child support system.

00:04The government just a month ago announced that National Cabinet would look into how

00:09child support can be weaponised by perpetrators of family violence.

00:13That's very welcome but the answers are in this report as to how it can be fixed

00:18and we are urging the government to set a timeframe on those investigations

00:23and then to urgently pass reforms.

00:25We have an election coming soon and we already have a government that frankly

00:29is lacking courage in a number of areas.

00:31We want them to find their courage and to help women who are escaping violence

00:36to not descend further into poverty.

00:38The time to do that is now and we urge the government to get on with that job.
