Prime Minister commits $925 million over 5 years to deal with 'scourge of violence against women'

Anthony Albanese has announced there will be an allocation of millions over five years to help Australians leave violent relationships.  Support is available for those who may be distressed. 00:00 So today we can announce the Government will invest $925 million over five years,

00:08 it will be included in the Budget in two weeks' time, to permanently establish the Leaving

00:14 Violence Program so that those escaping violence can receive financial support, safety assessments

00:21 and referrals to support pathways.

00:24 Those eligible will be able to access up to $5,000 in financial support along with referral

00:31 services, risk assessments and safety planning.

00:35 This commitment builds on measures put in place by our Government to help address financial

00:41 barriers to escaping violence.
