Bristol man charged with manslaughter after 2022 incident

00:13Gary John Selwood, 59, was convicted by a jury on Wednesday, September 25th, following

00:20a trial at Bristol Crown Court. He'll be sentenced in the same court.

00:25The court heard Selwood punch Carter in an unprovoked and unjustified attack at Whitchurch

00:31Folk House on East Dundree Road in Whitchurch on the evening of the 27th of February, 2022.

00:39As a result of being punched, Carter fell backwards and struck his head on the corner

00:43of some furniture. He was knocked unconscious and suffered a bleed to the brain. He was

00:47taken to Southmead Hospital, where he sadly died on April 16th.

00:53Selwood was arrested in Bedminster the day after the incident on suspicion of the assault.
