Top Five News Stories in Bristol this week: A Local Teenager killed in fatal stabbing

A teenage boy was taken to hospital after being stabbed in a Bristol park.   The 14-year-old was playing football at Mina Road Park in St Werburgh's when police say the serious assault occurred.

00:12 So Charlie, can you tell us what is our top story this week?

00:16 So our top story this week is that a 16 year old has tragically died after he was stabbed

00:22 in St. Philip's in Bristol on Wednesday evening. Police were called by the ambulance service

00:29 about 6 o'clock following the report where they found the boy had been injured on West

00:35 Street. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he sadly died at the scene after being attacked

00:41 by two people wearing masks. This is of course the latest in a number of stabbing attacks

00:48 across Bristol this year.

00:50 Okay, so that's an awful one for the city this week then. Shall we move on to our second

00:57 top story in the city? Tell me about that.

01:01 Yes, so moving on to a lighter note and that work is now underway to open a new multi-level

01:09 bar in Bristol city centre. So Goldbrick House is due to open on Park Street at the start

01:16 of March.

01:26 We can and our third story is about a temporary secondary school in South Bristol is going

01:32 to be expanded after delays to the permanent site. So Oasis Academy, Daventry Road is currently

01:40 based on playing fields of Oasis Academy, John Williams, another school in Hengrove

01:47 and it opened in September last year.

01:58 Yes, so our next story is good news for pastry lovers, which is that a Gregg's has reopened

02:10 more than three months after it closed. So the bakery and cafe in Broadwalk shopping
