00:00Hey guys, you might put this video on our odd stuff in Japan playlist, so you might

00:07remember a video from about one year ago.

00:09We showed you this piece of footpath there on the right hand side that had just been

00:15resurfaced and we commented at the time that this is out in the middle of nowhere and we

00:20drive along this road probably three or four times a day at different times of day from

00:25first thing in the morning to last thing at night in the middle of the day and we have

00:28never seen a pedestrian or a cyclist riding on that footpath.

00:33So that was a year ago that they did that.

00:36They resurfaced that piece of footpath that we'd never seen being used.

00:41There's also a footpath on the other side of the road as well that we've never seen

00:44being used.

00:45Then this week, one year later, we've come along to the same spot and there's roadworks

00:53going on and they're continuing to resurface this footpath.

01:00One year later, they've come back and they're continuing.

01:04So where they resurfaced to last year, they've taken, started again and they're going along

01:09from there.

01:10And again, we've driven this road a few times a day, five or six days a week.

01:17We've never seen a pedestrian or a cyclist on that footpath or there's another footpath

01:22here on the left-hand side that's sort of covered in grass because no one ever uses

01:26it.

01:27We've never seen a pedestrian or a cyclist on this side of the road.

01:30The other weird thing is that this footpath ends at this next intersection, right?

01:38So even if a pedestrian or a cyclist did decide to use one of these two footpaths that's available

01:43to them, once they get to this set of traffic lights up here, there's no more footpaths

01:48because we're out in the middle of nowhere.

01:50This is sort of like midway between two medium-sized towns out in the middle of the countryside.

01:56So nobody's riding.

01:58As you can see, lots of cars and trucks because that's how we travel out in the countryside,

02:03but nobody's walking or riding bikes.

02:05And then we get to this intersection and both those footpaths just stop.

02:09And then this road straight ahead here, as you can see, it's just for cars.

02:13There's no footpaths at all.

02:16It's just now one of those jobs that keeps people employed, we are guessing.

02:21Anyway, there was that.
