00:00Well, we're going to take you into the Atlantic.
00:01We're tracking a tropical rainstorm
00:03off the coast of Cape Cod.
00:05That's going to be sending some wind and rain into Nova
00:08Scotia in just a bit.
00:10But as we take a look at how we're doing here,
00:12the number of tropical storms we've had so far,
00:14typically by now, we'd be between number seven
00:16and number eight for the year.
00:18We've had only five.
00:20And five named storms is the average number
00:23by August 22nd.
00:24So we're running behind through that metric.
00:26We're closer to average when it comes
00:28to the number of hurricanes and major hurricanes.
00:30But overall, here are the features that we're tracking.
00:32We've got a tropical rainstorm moving up
00:34into the Canadian Maritimes.
00:35We've got another one that we've been dealing with all week.
00:37And we're going to be dealing with that for the next week,
00:40too, as it migrates south.
00:41This disturbance merges with it as it moves across the Yucatan
00:45and comes back north into Texas with a new round
00:47of heavy rain from that.
00:49Then we're tracking a couple of tropical waves
00:50off the west coast of Africa that will need to be watched.
00:53But here's the overall outlook.
00:55You can see around the middle of next week,
00:57low chance of development in the eastern Atlantic.
00:59But otherwise, these two tropical rainstorms,
01:01there's a chance that the one in the Gulf
01:03could become a named entity, depending
01:05on how it behaves in the southwestern Gulf.
01:07But for now, the tropical rainstorm
01:09that will not become a named entity because it's not really
01:12tropical is moving north into the area around Nova
01:15Scotia with 40 to 60 mile per hour gusts,
01:18two to four inches of rain.
01:20For Nova Scotia, this is a very manageable storm.
01:22And therefore, it will have an AccuWeather real impact scale
01:25of less than one, which is good news.
01:27But we're going to keep a close eye on this.
01:30The bulk of the rain scoots east across parts of Florida.
01:33But the core of the upper level low is going to migrate south.
01:36And you can see as this drifts south,
01:37it gets energized by this new disturbance
01:39coming across the Yucatan.
01:41And it comes back into Texas.
01:42So we're getting ready for a very wet week ahead next week.
