00:35It's based on Vareena Buddhusingh's sci-fi book, The Circle Armour.
00:40The Circle Armour is loosely based on alliances and kind of those ancient alien conspiracy theories.
00:46So it's based 13,000 years ago on an advanced ancient civilization.
00:53And basically, they are facing a galaxy war.
00:58And in the midst of this war, three of the protagonists, they actually were called upon to save the world.
01:07Vareena incorporated parts of the Indian epic, the Mahabharata.
01:12Parts of the war was triggered by that idea, oh well, the Mahabharata.
01:18So there's a war scene in The Circle Armour.
01:21And really, the Mahabharata is about a war as well.
01:26And for example, we have Vamanas too, which is like the flying chariot and stuff like that.
01:32Like elements of those worlds within The Circle Armour.
01:36From just this glimpse, you can see characters just like you captivating international audiences
01:43with the diversity of its people and the flair of Caribbean culture.
01:48The food or clothing, for example, there is a scene where there are mocha jumbies.
01:52We have like blue devils in the scenes.
01:55All those are kind of space settings, like I drew from our culture of carnival.
02:01And I have elements of that in it.
02:03And even with regards to like the different race and a mixture of race.
02:07It was made entirely by AI, and this film tells a universal story.
02:13AI is here and it's changing every aspect of every industry.
02:17The protagonists, they all are underdogs, you know.
02:20And despite like their background, where they came from,
02:24you really learn to discover that belief within themselves.
02:29And it really shows that believing in oneself is your magic.
02:33And that really is the message for the story.
02:37I really like Okunyus personally because I felt as if he's the unexpected hero.
02:45And if you follow his journey, you see that he grew a lot from an arrogant person.
02:50He's a very humble human being.
02:54And so it's a lot of like character journey you follow and a lot of change and challenges.
03:02Farina's journey in writing was inspired by her daughter.
03:06I was looking for some like engaging history books for her because I did my first degree in history.
03:11The teacher about Trinidad and Tobago.
03:13And I just found that I was lacking, you know.
03:16These engaging history books that teach you about Trinidad and Tobago.
03:20And I really noticed from a young age that my cousins, they were always more patriotic.
03:26And they grew up in America.
03:28And it all stems as a child because the medium, the books they have, the way they teach in school.
03:34And I kind of wanted to get my daughter into that whole patriotic spirit from very early.
03:39And it took her a few months and some unique situations to channel her all into completing the book.
03:47Music helps a lot.
03:49So it depends on what scene I'm writing.
03:52For example, if I'm writing an action scene,
03:54I would play like soothing music to trigger that fast-paced vibes.
03:59If I'm writing a really intense emotional scene, I need my quiet space.
04:05Like I remember there was one scene I actually went in the closet to write.
04:09Just to get a silent, no interruption at all.
04:14The first of the trilogy, the trailer has tens of thousands of views after being released on TikTok.
04:21I just want everyone to feel proud as Shunnies.
04:24Like see a part of themselves when they watch a movie.
04:27Not just like the way they look and how they feel.
04:30But also like, you know, like our vibrance, the colours, the carnival, our food, you know.
04:36And I just want them to feel really proud about this.
04:40Yeah, because it is going to be a masterpiece.
04:42The movie will premiere at MovieTown shortly after Carnival 2025.
