For a fourth time in about six years, the St Clement’s Anglican Church in San Fernando has been burgled.

Church officials say this latest incident was the worst.

00:002018 was the first time the St Clement's Anglican Church in San Fernando was targeted
00:07by bandits and it has fallen prey four times to date.
00:12Since then, the church has secured valuable items with locks, gates and CCTV systems but
00:19none of that prevented Monday morning's break-in.
00:22I looked at the camera, it was around 12.20 and I looked at it and it was about three
00:30men and they spent about 25 minutes trying to enter the church.
00:36They opened the window quite easily and apparently they had a small grinder, they had a bunch
00:42of keys.
00:43He says the police were contacted and investigations are ongoing.
00:48He estimates that equipment worth over $80,000 was taken.
00:54Well they stole the audio mixer board, they stole five speakers, they stole a new brand
01:02keyboard, they have stolen the water pump, so it's quite a lot.
01:10The place was left ransacked as the thieves searched through various rooms, cupboards
01:16and boxes in search of valuables.
01:18Mr Gabriel says the vandalism left many parishioners heartbroken.
01:24He issues a call for those responsible to turn to God instead of a life of crime.
01:31I'm distressed, I'm hurting.
01:36You know when you're small, you know, you figure if you say damn bad, the church, God
01:41will punish you.
01:43These guys don't care anything, they don't fear God, they break into the church.
01:48When you ask them to turn to God, the church is here, we have an admission service next
01:53week, they can attend, you know if you put God in your life, things will work out very
02:03good for you.
02:04You haven't got to resort to stealing.
02:06He says it will take some time to replace what was stolen, as the church will now have
02:12to turn to the congregation and fundraising efforts to do so.
