The best places to watch Meteor shower according to Londoners

We ask the people of south London where the best spots are to watch the meteor shower expected to happen this week.

00:00So I think the best place to watch the meteor shower in London would be Crystal Palace Park

00:05or if you have a big park near you. I say this because when we had the Northern Lights

00:11I missed them because there was quite a lot of light pollution where I was so I thought

00:16we couldn't see them but then I saw a load of photos of people who'd seen them in Crystal

00:20Palace Park by the big structure that's there like the big TV mast or whatever it is. So yeah

00:27I would say head to somewhere where there's a lot of green space. Brockwell Park I've got a friend

00:32who's over from Paris who's staying with his family at my place at the moment and we used

00:37to go into Brockwell Park. We both lived in Brixton and we go into Brockwell Park and sit

00:41on a particular bench when there were the Perseids or shooting stars or whatever. Unfortunately he's

00:46like me he's a terrible talker so we talked all the time and apparently there were 150

00:52Perseids and shooting stars but we kept missing them and then laughing. I think Crystal

00:57Palace Park would be quite good if you've got a good view and it's on a hill. Also if you go

01:02towards Forest Hill the Horniman Gardens area you've got really nice views from up there.

01:07I suppose if you're up to North London you've got Hampstead Heath, places like that. Yeah if I

01:14was in North London I'd probably head to Hampstead Heath, somewhere on a hill and

01:21yeah or the equivalent wherever you are. Yeah Brockwell Park in the middle, no one goes in

01:26Brockwell Park and sometimes you have to now climb over the gates to get in but it's worth it because

01:30it's such a beautiful park. I play a lot of Call of Duty and I know that for the best viewpoint you

01:36need to get high ground so I say get somewhere high if you can get into Big Ben or access to

01:40anywhere high like that or if you live in a high balcony yeah just take advantage of it and enjoy

01:44the meteor showers you know what I mean. Have a drink, get me, have a cheeky smoke and enjoy yourself. Simple.
