00:00Crystal Palace is a district in South London named after the grand glass structure originally built in the Great Exhibition of 1851, designed by Sir Joseph Paxson.
00:13The Crystal Palace was relocated to Sydenham Hill in 1854 and stood as a symbol of Victorian innovation until it was tragically destroyed in a fire by 1936.
00:25Today, Crystal Palace is known for its vast park, which features remnants of the original site including impressive Victorian terraces, sphinxes and the famous dinosaur sculptures as well.
00:38The area also boasts stunning views over London and is dubbed the South version of Muswell Hill in North London.
00:45It has a strong food scene and community vibe. It's served by Crystal Palace Station and also lends its name to Crystal Palace Football Club.
