00:12Dozens of clips from the 8th and final episode were illegally uploaded to TikTok
00:16less than a week before the finale was set to drop on August 4th.
00:20Comicbook.com reported that the clips appeared to be captured by someone
00:24filming a screen with a secondary device.
00:26Comicbook.com reported that the videos had more than 100,000 views prior to it being taken down.
00:33The clips have also been reshared on TikTok as well as on X.
00:37This isn't the first time the House of the Dragon finale has been leaked online.
00:41In 2022, days before the season 1 finale aired, the episode was illegally made available.
00:46At the time, HBO attributed the leak to a distribution partner in Europe,
00:50the Middle East, or Africa.
00:52A similar situation also happened in 2017 when an episode from season 7 of Game of Thrones
00:58was illegally uploaded to an illegal torrent site prior to its debut.
