Leeds is set to celebrate its rich cultural diversity with the return of the Leeds West Indian Carnival on the August Bank Holiday weekend, this year with a slightly updated route.

00:06is a slightly updated route this year requiring less road closures which is due to cause less

00:13The 26th of August parade route will take in Hare Hills Avenue, Spencer Place, Rounday

00:18Road, Barrack Road and Chapel Town Road.

00:21All of those roads will be fully closed from 6am to 10pm, with most public transport links

00:27and access to St James' Hospital being maintained.

00:31There will also be some road closures on Chapel Town Road and Hare Hills Avenue on Sunday

00:38Starting at 2pm at Potter Newton Park on Bank Holiday Monday, Carnival troops will do two

00:43laps of the new route, giving spectators more opportunity to take in the parade's journey.

00:49The first lap allows judges to evaluate the array of displays, and the second lap is for

00:54the troops to enjoy the celebrations ahead of their final park performances.
