Nine parks and green spaces in Leeds have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award 2024.

The annual Green Flag Awards have been revealed, with nine parks and green spaces in Leeds

being recognised for their international quality status.

The areas that have been recognised include Golden Acre Park, Kirkstall Abbey, Middleton

Park, Otley-Shevan Forest Park, Pudsey Park, Roundy Park and Temple Newsome Estate, which

are all managed by Leeds City Council and have been recognised as among the best in

the country.

All seven parks and green spaces awarded the Green Flag are considered vital for Leeds

communities, bringing people together and providing opportunities to lead healthy lifestyles.

The Yorkshire part of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal has also been given Green Flag status,

along with Leeds Beckett University's Headingley Campus.

The Green Flag Awards scheme is managed by Keep Britain Tidy, and it recognises and rewards

well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management
