What to expect on polling day

00:00Your polling station will be open from 7am to 10pm on Election Day.
00:09You can find out where your polling station is on the Electoral Commission website.
00:14Information will be available around two weeks before polling day.
00:18The address of your polling station will also be on your poll card, which you'll receive
00:23in the post.
00:25There will be signs outside and inside the polling station to show you where to go.
00:31Polling station staff will be available to help you with any questions you might have.
00:36You don't need your poll card to vote, but you must confirm your name and the address
00:41where you are registered to vote, and you must also show an accepted form of photo ID
00:46for some elections.
00:50Once polling station staff have confirmed that you are at the correct polling station,
00:55that you are registered and eligible to vote, and your photo ID is acceptable, you will
01:00be given a ballot paper, or more than one ballot paper in some elections.
01:06You will then be directed to go to one of the polling booths to mark your ballot paper
01:10or papers in secret.
01:13Follow the instructions on the ballot paper.
01:16Information about how to vote will also be in the polling booth.
01:20Pencils will be available, but you can bring your own pen or pencil if you would prefer.
01:28Fold your ballot paper so nobody else can see how you have voted, and then place your
01:33ballot paper in the ballot box.
