00:00Traveling to the southern part of Metro Manila and nearby provinces will be more difficult.
00:06Not only travelers, but also various products will be required.
00:11This is because President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. has already invested in the Cavitex C5 Link
00:18Interchange, which our countrymen will be able to use for free for a month.
00:24Let's take a look at the center of the news, Kenneth Paciente.
00:30Motorists will be able to travel faster from and to the southern part of Metro Manila
00:36and nearby provinces.
00:38This is after the formal investment of the Cavitex C5 Link Interchange
00:43in the initiative of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
00:46According to the President, it will connect the main roads to the Cavitex
00:52as a reason for the faster travel of motorists and products.
00:57With this interchange, motorists will now be able to travel smoothly, safely, and conveniently
01:03from Cavitex R1 to Sucat, Paranaque within just 5 minutes.
01:09It is a dramatic improvement from the usual 1-hour travel time via existing public roads
01:15from Kawit, Cavite.
01:17According to the President, more than 20,000 motorists will benefit from the so-called
01:23Expressway, which is possible to increase in number.
01:27Before you know it, that 23,000 motorists that we are estimating for now,
01:34that will fill up very quickly as soon as they see the advantages of traveling
01:40on this, really, what is the bypass and circular route around the city.
01:46And to make the so-called Expressway more profitable, it will be open to the public today.
01:51According to the President, it was recommended by the Philippine Reclamation Authority or PRA
01:56that it is the operator of Cavitex that will suspend within 30 days the collection of toll fees
02:02for all types of vehicles passing through Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway
02:07in Taguig, Paranaque, Las Pinas, Bacoor, and Kawit.
02:10So we welcome this call and thank the PRA for its initiative to help mitigate the impact
02:15of rising fuel costs to our motorists.
02:18I now count on our Toll Regulatory Board to ensure the immediate implementation
02:25for the benefit of the riding and the transport public.
02:30The President also prioritized ground breaking and capsule laying
02:34for the construction of Segment 3B of the Cavitex C5 Link Expressway.
02:38It is 2 kilometers long and will connect to Cavitex Paranaque and C5 Road in Taguig.
02:44The target is to finish the construction by next year.
02:48According to the President, by the time it is finished,
02:51it will reduce the travel time from the Cavitex R1 Expressway section
02:55to S-Lex C5 Road in 10 minutes from usually 40 minutes.
03:00It will also help motorists to avoid the in-city roads where traffic is congested.
03:06That is a good thing because that means that the traffic that is going
03:11from the different parts of the country, up north, down south,
03:18no longer through Manila, will immediately enjoy all those benefits
03:25of a much easier, much faster, and much simpler.
03:31And we don't need to worry that much about traffic as we are having to do now.
03:37The President also recognized the government's contributions
03:40for the implementation of the project
03:42and allowed the government to continue coordinating with the private sector
03:46to push other public-private partnership projects.
