We head down to Albert’s Schloss try some German beers as part of our mission to taste the different drinks and cuisines of countries playing in Euro 2024.

00:00With Germany hosting the Euros this summer, we thought the next best thing to being over there

00:05was to immerse ourselves in the culture without even having to leave Liverpool.

00:10Albert Schloss on Bold Street is a Bavarian beer hall serving up Alpine food and a wide

00:14range of European beers. As well as this, the party house hosts live music and entertainment

00:19seven days a week. While we're here, it's only fair to do a taste test of some of the popular

00:23beers they have on offer. That is music to my ears. Emma, let's head straight in. We're going

00:29to go for the big one first. Oh, the size of that. Now, this is the Erdinger, synonymous

00:36with Jägerklopp. So, very popular already. It was at least four with the red sign. Yes, exactly.

00:44Okay, that's nice. It's a lot lighter than I thought it'd be, but it's perfectly quaffable.

00:49And yeah, I can see why it's a fan favourite. So, next up, we have the Schotterhopper,

00:54a grapefruit flavoured beer. It's meant to be crisp and refreshing and it's a Radler,

00:59so we'll see what I think. Oh, that one's really nice. It reminds me of being on holiday,

01:05actually. Absolutely. I'm not a fan of that one. And last but certainly not least,

01:10we are having a little taste of the Forlana, which is longer here.

01:16Nice? Yeah. Do you know what? It tastes like beer. Sorry, I know that's not very,

01:23but nice. You know, if you like a lager, then I'm sure you'll like this. It's pretty light,

01:28pretty easy to drink. You know, I'd finish that. But don't forget,

01:33definitely needs to drink responsibly. The saying usually goes when in Rome,

01:37but here it's more of a case of when in Berlin. Forlana is probably our favourite one. Forlana

01:42is one of the biggest beer houses in Germany. For the Oktoberfest, they have the biggest tent

01:47and I think that's probably the best one you can go for. We asked Lewis what he thinks of

01:51Germany's chances in the competition. I hope they get knocked out early, but I think they've

01:55got good depth in their squad, so I think they'll probably make the finals or at least the semifinals.
