00:12 So overall money wise it's a good thing to be getting paid a little bit extra.
00:19 Like 2.6 million other workers, Danielle is set to pocket an extra 3.75%.
00:27 From next month the minimum hourly rate is rising from $23.23 to just over $24
00:34 or about $33 extra a week to almost $916 for full time workers.
00:42 Modern award minimum wages remain in real terms lower than they were 5 years ago.

00:58 A mid level community worker will be $3,200 a year better off.
01:03 An entry level retail or hospo worker will be $2,600 a year better off.

01:14 with retail and hospitality sectors battling rising insolvencies.
01:19 We've lost the acceptable limit for business, particularly for small business.
01:25 This outcome does not give us a higher inflation track than we already had.
01:30 We continue to see inflation coming down through the second half of this year.
01:34 Unions were pushing for an extra increase to the awards that cover female dominated industries
01:39 like early childhood educators and dental assistants.

01:47 The commission have now set down a process with timelines,
01:51 prioritised the most feminised awards and we will see a shift.
01:55 A push for fairer work.
