00:00 Datin Seri Rosma Mansor has successfully obtained a judgment in default from the Kuala Lumpur
00:07 High Court against a TikTok account owner in a defamation lawsuit involving her looks.
00:13 On Tuesday, Justice Ahmad Shahreer Muhammad Saleh allowed Rosma's application to enter
00:19 a judgment in default against defendant Koo Muhammad Hilmi Kudin, who failed to enter
00:25 an appearance in the case.
00:27 The court also made an order for general, aggravated and exemplary damages to be assessed
00:32 by the High Court at a later date.
00:35 In the lawsuit, filed on September 19, Rosma claimed that Koo Hilmi had uploaded a TikTok
00:40 video on March 2 last year containing defamatory content against her.
00:46 Rosma claimed the posting, in its ordinary or normal meaning, implied that she committed
00:50 a sin, was linked to BOMO activities and Satan, had practiced polytheism, and that she should
00:56 repent.
00:57 She also said that as a result, she suffered criticism and that her reputation was smeared.
01:04 She had sought general, aggravated and exemplary damages to be assessed by the court and an
01:10 injunction to stop Koo Hilmi from repeating the defamatory post.
01:14 The injunction application, however, was withdrawn because of the non-appearance of the defendant.
