00:06 obtain leave to appeal against a court ruling concerning her solar hybrid project graft

00:12 Rosmah, who is the wife of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, was challenging the
00:19 validity of the late Datuk Sri Gopal Sri Ram's appointment as lead prosecutor and to nullify
00:24 her trial.
00:26 The Apex Court said the application did not meet the threshold requirements of Section
00:30 96 of the Courts of Judicature Act.
00:34 The court said there are no novel issues that would merit further ventilation and there
00:38 are no issues of public importance for consideration by the court.
00:42 The court ordered Rosmah to pay costs of 30,000 ringgit.
00:45 In September 2022, the Kuala Lumpur High Court found Rosmah guilty of corruption in the solar
00:51 hybrid project case and sentenced her to 10 years in jail along with a fine of 970 million
00:58 ringgit.
00:59 She filed an appeal and is out on a 2 million ringgit bail, with her appeal fixed for case
