00:06girlfriend on Thursday outside a gym in South Sydney.
00:11He appeared to be wearing a hospital gown as he appeared via video link from Surry Hills
00:15Holding Cells and he did not apply for bail so he will remain in custody for now.
00:21The 45-year-old has been charged over the alleged stabbing of his former girlfriend
00:25in a car park in Alexandria around 12.30 on Thursday.
00:30A man allegedly approached her, stabbed her in the upper body before fleeing in a car.
00:36She then ran for help inside the gym.
00:38She was taken by ambulance to hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
00:43Police spent many hours looking for Mr Monteleone after the alleged crime before he handed himself
00:48in yesterday to DY Police Station on Sydney's Northern Beaches.
00:53He was then transferred to Manly Police Station and questioned for several hours before being
00:58charged over the stabbing last night.
01:01He's also been charged with breaching an apprehended domestic violence order that was in place
01:05to protect the 39-year-old victim.
01:08Police say the pair had dated only very briefly and the court today heard he may also have
01:13been in breach of an intensive corrections order that was put in place last month after
01:18he was convicted of breaching the ADVO two times before last month.
01:25Now he will remain in custody for now until his next court appearance in July while his
01:29alleged victim remains in hospital recovering from her injuries.
