00:00 So when you're ready miss, go for it.
00:03 Hello, my name's Katie Leach and I'm the Early Years Lead Teacher here at the Pryor School.
00:07 It's a really exciting day at the Pryor School today as we've been really fortunate to have some special visitors in school
00:14 as we would call them everyday superheroes.
00:17 So we've got a visit from our Air Ambulance helipad here behind us.
00:21 We've had some fantastic volunteers come from the British Red Cross and also the St John's Ambulance.
00:25 It's been a really beneficial day for many of our children to get them to experience these emergency services up close and personal in real life.
00:34 And it's been fantastic that all of our volunteers have given their time freely to come and spend the day to experience this with all of our children.
00:41 So a big thank you to them and thank you to all of our children who have done absolutely amazingly and been a credit to all of us.
00:47 Go on then Luke, fire away.
00:49 What do you guys do at the Red Cross?
00:52 We do loads of things at the Red Cross but in particular what we do is if for example someone's had a fire at their house,
01:00 the fire brigade will have been along, put the fire out and then we will turn up and we will offer them support.
01:07 We'll look after their housing needs, we might make them a cup of tea, give them some food, perhaps give them some clothes.
01:15 Lots of things that you might have lost in your house fire, we have on the back of the van and we will look after what they call your humanitarian needs.
01:26 Basically we're there to help people and to try and give them the first step back onto reclaiming their lives.
01:36 Because after a fire or a flood, people often don't know what to do, they don't know how to contact anyone.
01:43 We've got loads of people at the Red Cross, we've got a few great clothes.
01:48 Basically we just help people, it's a really good organisation to be with.
01:54 What do you think of that guys? Some good work there yeah?
01:57 Oh look at this round of applause as well, look at that.
02:00 It surprises me, I like it.
02:03 Now Eilidh, you've just been up in the flying seat haven't you Eilidh?
02:07 Yes.
02:08 What was that like sitting in there?
02:09 Amazing.
02:10 Was there one or two buttons to press?
02:12 I didn't press any.
02:14 That's probably a wise decision.
02:16 Can you imagine that, how many people get to sit in the front of a helicopter?
02:20 I know.
02:21 So you've been having a good day today?
02:22 Yes.
02:23 What's been your favourite bit so far?
02:25 Sitting in the helicopter.
02:26 There you go, you've won it mate, you've won it.
02:28 Well done.
02:29 Let's have a look, what's that Luke, what did you just say?
02:31 He's going to take off.
02:32 He's going to take off, well I'm going to jump off before you take off.
02:35 So you're a big Barcelona football fan aren't you?
02:38 Yeah.
02:39 So if you were flying anywhere, exactly where would you be heading mate, off to Barcelona?
02:43 Yeah.
02:44 Well let him go, I'll jump in then.
02:45 Barcelona International Airport.
02:47 We'll go with that for you.
02:49 So when we get there...
